How a commercial project works

  1. Site assessment and scope

We review the drawings or walk the space with you, document existing conditions and confirm the loads, equipment and timeline the project has to meet.

  2. Design and proposal

For build-outs and upgrades, we lay out power, lighting and controls to suit the space and prepare a detailed proposal. On projects with an architect or engineer, we work from their drawings and flag issues early.

  3. Permits and coordination

We file the electrical permits, coordinate with the general contractor and other trades, and schedule work with PSEG Long Island when the electrical service is changing.

  4. Installation and closeout

We plan phases and any shutdowns with you in advance to keep disruption to your operations to a minimum, then complete the inspections and hand over documentation for your records.

Commercial electrical work on Long Island

Commercial projects carry more moving parts than residential work: three-phase service, larger distribution equipment, emergency and exit lighting, fire alarm systems and the building’s life-safety requirements. Our team has delivered work for national carriers, global brands and federal agencies, as well as offices, retail spaces and multi-use buildings.

We also handle the ongoing side of commercial electrical service: lighting upgrades that lower operating costs, generator installation and service testing so backup power is ready when it’s needed, and troubleshooting when equipment or circuits fail.

Most commercial electrical work requires permits and inspections, and fire alarm work may also need approval from the local fire marshal. We manage the filings and inspections so your project stays on schedule.
